Cathedral Prep Students Paint Mural at Local Homeless Shelter – Erie News Now [Video]

A new mural was unveiled inside the emergency shelter at Community Shelter Services.

Tilden Abercrombie cut the ribbon, to welcome people into the homeless shelter’s playroom, which now displays the ocean-themed mural he designed and painted with his brother Henry.

The artwork is all to create a fun, educational space for children in the shelter, the process took about two weeks.

The brothers raised funds, to make this artistic donation.

“The goal of painting the mural was to ensure that children that are in need have a safe, educational, fun place to grow up in,” said Henry Abercrombie, a Senior at Cathedral Prep. “I hope that it will strongly impact the lives of the children that come here to play.”

The updated playroom also received a donation of new toys for children of all ages.
