Things to Know: Park Hours are from Dusk to Dawn.

There’s two parking areas and trail sections that range in 0.2 miles to 1.3 miles long. There’s a pit toilet at the beginning so if your kids are afraid of those, make sure to stop at the gas station right as you enter Calhan.
Ways to make it Educational: Short-horned lizards are said to roam here so keep an eye out to spot one.

Your kids may also like to look for Buffalo Grass & the Lark Bunting Bird that’s native to here.
