The Batesville Pioneers quiz bowl team earned the 5A State Championship title on Saturday.
The Pioneers defeated the Valley View team by a final score of 290-215.
The last time the Pioneers quiz bowl team won state was in 2007 when the current team’s head coach, Bryce Grant, was a senior.
The Arkansas Governor’s Quiz Bowl Association sponsors the Quiz Bowl each year. The event was aired on Arkansas PBS stations.
