UConn considers student housing for Avery Point [Video]

There is currently no state or university funding to build a residence hall at the campus, but UConn said they are looking into alternative solutions.

GROTON, Conn. — The University of Connecticut is considering implementing student housing at its Avery Point campus in Groton, according to university spokesperson Stephanie Reitz Tuesday.

While UConn said that no decisions can be made until “more information is gathered and assessed,” Reitz said that the university will begin “exploring the feasibility” of housing at the Avery Point campus, in addition to other enhancements that have not been determined yet.

Reitz added that there is currently no funding through the university or the state to build a residence hall at the campus, but that UConn is looking into alternative solutions including an “external partnership.”
