What experiences would you prioritize if you only had 36 hours to explore New York City with your family?

After a whirlwind trip to the Northeast for a bachelor party in Baltimore & a friend’s wedding weekend in Pennsylvania, we had the opportunity to visit New York City for 36 hours before our flight home to Colorado.

We rented a car for the first part of the trip, but we returned it as soon as we arrived in New York City and opted to walk and use pedicabs during our time there instead.

Scott was born in New York and visited the city alot growing up, and I’ve visited a couple of times before, but we’ve never visited it together, and Atlas and Isle have never been to a city of this caliber!

Although we only had 36 hours to explore the Big Apple, we hit some serious highlights including: seeing the Lion King on Broadway, exploring Central Park, and visiting the 86th Floor of the Empire State Building!

We loved staying in the middle of all the action – right in time square. Our kids were totally infatuated with all of the lights and commotion!

Although we typically avoid big cities on our travels, we had a beautiful experience in New York City, and I’m glad that we had the opportunity to visit with our kids.

Have you ever traveled to the Big Apple? Would you take your kids there?
