Work underway on new Denison homeless center – [Video]

The group will partner with the Denison Soup Kitchen, and plans for the site in the 1000 block of West Crawford Street feature showers, a laundry and a kitchen.

“It will create a one-way stop place for them to come,” said H.E.A.T. president Barbara Bailey.  “Instead of having them hop from a food pantry to a soup kitchen to different places. It gives them a place to stop and say, ‘What do I do about, you know, this situation?'”

The building is under construction and is expected to take six months to complete.
