Former Richmond City Council member Michelle Mosby formally launched her campaign for Richmond mayor at a press conference Thursday morning at Libby Hill Park.
The announcement comes after months of fundraising, collecting signatures and garnering endorsements.
Mosby outlined her reasons for running and plans for the city’s future to a crowd of about 30 supporters including former Mayor Dwight Jones, Richmond NAACP Pres. J.J. Minor III, council members Cynthia Newbille and Ellen Robertson and representatives from Richmond Public School Board, as well as her mother, who cheered throughout the event.
