BEVERLY, W.Va. (WBOY) — In an effort to replace playground equipment installed more than two decades ago, Beverly Elementary School has created the “Project Playground” fundraising campaign.
The current playground has been at the school for multiple years, and while it’s still safe for children to play on, the school thinks it is time for a more state-of-the-art upgrade.
“We need to raise about 135,000 dollars to replace the playground equipment here at Beverly. It’s been here for 23, 25 years somewhere in that range we believe and it’s really starting to show its age here. The kids enjoy being outside and we just need to get some new equipment in here for them,” Beverly Elementary’s Community in Schools Site Coordinator Janetta Ross said.
