Cumberland residents voted Tuesday to fill two Town Council seats, as well as two School Administrative District 51 school board seats.
Running for Town Councilor At-Large were Baily Douglass, who served previously on the Cumberland Bicentennial committee, and Scott Jordan, a U.S. Army veteran with experience in the nonprofit sector. Douglass won a 967-vote, or 61.4%, majority.
Incumbent Councilor Brooke “Tig” Filson ran unopposed for the Center seat on the Council and received a total of 1,345 votes.
Seeking two seats on the school board were incumbent Jared Levin and newcomers Anneke Hohl and Megan Lichter, both of whom have children in the district. Hohl and Lichter prevailed, earning 1,000, or 36%, and 967, or 34.9%, votes respectively. Levin fell short, earning 807, or 29%.
Residents also voted on the annual school budget validation referendum. The referendum passed in Cumberland with 1,138 votes, or 67.6%, in favor, and also was …
