Rashford was absent from United’s 4-2 victory over the League Two side with Ten Hag insisting before the game that his omission was due to an ‘internal issue’.
That came after Rashford was seen partying in Northern Ireland on Wednesday and Thursday, which subsequently saw him report ill to training on Friday.
It has now emerged that Rashford, who has been fined £650,000 by the club, actually offered to play on Sunday but Ten Hag rejected his proposal.
