Fosters needed for 2 dogs found by owner’s body in Detroit [Video]

DETROIT (WWJ) – Two dogs are in need of homes this holiday season after rescuers say the animals were discovered by police laying faithfully next to their owner’s deceased body in Detroit this week.

Nonprofit rescue group, Rebel Dogs Detroit, took to social media on Tuesday to share the heartbreaking story of the two dogs, Willow and Darcy, who were found in the freezing home without electricity, food or water.

“Late last night we received a call from two Detroit Police Officers, stating that they were called to do a wellness check,” the post begins. “Upon entering the house, they found these two sweet girls laying next to their deceased human’s body. An investigation is ongoing but their owner was likely murdered tragically.”
