Free tech education center coming to NoHo [Video]

Soon, as many as 1,500 young people a week will have access to free education in a variety of tech-related subjects thanks to a new TUMO Center coming to North Hollywood.

As KNX News’ Craig Fiegener reports, the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies is essentially a boys and girls clubs where teenagers can learn free of charge – everything from game development to animation, filmmaking, to robotics.

L.A. City Council President Paul Krekorian said the nonprofit coming to his district, is funded in large part with $23 million in grant money from the State of California.

“We have some of the most important successful animation companies, music companies, filmmaking companies on Planet Earth. If we don’t continue to foster that talent and bring that talent up and connect these young people to this industry, then we won’t keep that industry here in Los Angeles any longer,” said Krekorian.
