Gas prices are rising all over West Virginia [Video]

(WVNS) – Any driver can relate to the feeling of seeing gas prices go up.

Gas prices around West Virginia have increased by 10 cents per gallon in the last week alone.

Recently, gas was at its cheapest price in Greenbrier county at $2.81 per gallon, but just one week later, prices that low can no longer be found anywhere in the state.

Work on Route 19 planned

Lori Hawkins, Public Affairs Manager for Triple A Blue Grass, says oil prices play a factor in increased prices.

“The price of oil has been fluctuating. We saw it jump up last week into the high 70 dollars per barrel, so” said Hawkins to 59News.

There are many factors in increasing and decreasing gas prices including an increase in demand with more travel.
