How Lawrencians are spreading holiday cheer, from streetside fundraisers to acts of kindness The Lawrence Times [Video]

Everyone has a different way of celebrating this month.

That’s why Lawrence Times TV took to the streets to hear how local residents are leaning into the joy and kindness that the holidays are all about.

Brothers Harrison and Bennett Leiszler are known for taking their Christmas spirit to the streets. The two violin players have made a family tradition of picking up their instruments on downtown street corners, donning Santa hats, and playing songs such as “Deck the Halls” and “Jingle Bell Rock,” all while raising donations for Toys for Tots. The family finishes their night with a trip to The Toy Store. (Donations to this fundraiser can also be made via GoFundMe.)

There are plenty of other ways to celebrate, too. As Lawrence residents attend events and fundraisers all month long, spend time with family and friends, and even just belly up to their favorite local bars and overtip their servers, there’s no wrong way to show your holiday …
