Kroger partners with Cincinnati State to help students fighting hunger [Video]

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – September is Hunger Action Month and on Monday, Kroger teamed up with Cincinnati State to help students who do not know when their next meal will be.

This is all a part of Kroger’s Zero Hunger Plan, which began in 2017. The program aims to bring awareness to the fight against hunger and boost food donations in local communities.

Canned food, hygiene products and other non-perishable items lined the shelves at Cincinnati State’s Surge Cupboard Food Pantry.

“Cincinnati State has had a food pantry for years, but today with the donation from Kroger, we’re able to expand what we offer,” said Monica Posy, President of Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.

Posy says the pantry serves more than 800 students and their families each year.
