Minnetonka High School starts permanent food shelf on campus [Video]

One thing that prevents people from visiting food shelves is a lack of time or transportation to and from the location.

MINNETONKA, Minn. — The Minnetonka Chapter of the Interact Club is partnering with the ICA Food Shelf to tackle food insecurity in our community. 

Interact Club is the high school division of the Rotary Organization and during the past year, they have worked to open up a food shelf called the Galley in Minnetonka High School. 

The food shelf is open to Minnetonka students and their families. 

One thing that prevents people from visiting food shelves is a lack of time or transportation to and from the location.

By opening a food shelf in the high school students can take the bus to school and don’t have to travel to a separate location to access the food that they need.
