During the week, Eric Horn works as an L.A. police officer for the Northeast Division, but on the weekends, he’s known as ‘coach’ and the president of the Northeast Little League.

It’s a volunteer position running the league, and Horn tells Heroes producer Heather Jordan it’s all about helping his community, especially the kids.

As president, Horn is the primary contact for fundraising and outreach. He also connects the league with influential people and organizations to inspire the payers and their coaches.

“We just have a lot of different sponsors who kind of help the kids just do more than baseball, you know, just have somewhere to go teach them things and help out the league,” said Horn.

With 13 teams comprising about 206 kids, it’s one of the biggest Little Leagues requiring a lot of time and attention, but Horn says the sacrifice is worth it.
