Pastor says church will pay New London for collapsed church cleanup [Video]

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WFSB) – For the first time, we’re hearing from the pastor of the New London church that collapsed.

Since the collapse nearly 5 weeks ago, the I-Team has worked tirelessly to track down the church’s owner, to find out whether the church will help pay for nearly a quarter of a million dollars in cleanup costs.

On Friday night, Pastor James Levesque, owner of Engaging Heaven Ministries, flew in from his headquarters in Florida, to lead the congregation in a night of worship, and fundraising at a benefit concert in Groton.

The goal was to collect money to rebuild their New London church that collapsed on January 25th.

The church was bought in 2015 by Engaging Heaven Ministries Inc., owned by Pastor James Levesque, for $250,000.

That’s almost the same amount the city now owes in clean up costs.
