During the Thanksgiving season, our hearts and minds are softened as we reflect on, and feel gratitude for, our blessings.
Did you know that in the Metro area Thanksgiving brings out the angels among us? They come in all sizes, shapes, colors and religious denominations. They are the volunteers who, on a day most people spend with family, take time to celebrate Thanksgiving the way it was intended. It’s a holiday that often leads us to think of our neighbors’ needs and how we might help.
Whether it’s fundraising, donating, meal prep, delivery drivers or servers, a free Thanksgiving dinner is something to be thankful for.
It’s so rewarding for the volunteers who deliver to and interact directly with those in need. And it is rewarding to the families, the elderly and the homeless who need a little extra help.
