Sacramento County’s 11th CORE mental health site support homeless [Video]

Homeless residents will be a main focus at the X Street site picked by Sacramento city officials earlier this month, a county spokesperson said.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento city and county officials kept homeless residents at the forefront of their minds when they partnered for the county’s 11th Community Outreach Recovery Empowerment (CORE) Program site on X Street.

The county’s CORE program sites host outreach workers from local nonprofits to connect community members with mental health and wellness resources, as well as assistance with finding work or other support networks.

A county health program manager said city officials chose X Street because it is a prime location for residents who don’t have access to transportation to take them outside the area.
