Salvation Army picks up hundreds of toys in South Burlington for Toys for Kids drive [Video]

NBC5 has once again partnered with The Salvation Army and the Marine Corps League for the annual Toys for Kids drive. The drive’s mission is to ensure that every local family has a gift under their tree this holiday season.On Wednesday, The Salvation Army and our NBC5 crew helped load up trucks with donations, filling them to the brim with fun toys and goodies that will bring smiles to children’s faces in Vermont and the North Country.Organizers say that more than 2,500 area families have signed up to receive gifts this year, which translates to roughly 1,100 kids.The Salvation Army says they’re grateful to the community for stepping up.”It’s so wonderful to be able to come in, see the lobby filled, see our vans pulling out and even coming back with more toys,” said Capt.
