WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Illinois Department of Public Health is giving out millions in grant money to support mental health services for youth.

The money comes from the American Rescue Plan Act, ARPA.

Leaders say the goal is to address mental health concerns after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most of the money went to schools, but several hospitals, health departments and colleges were awarded as well.

Two local hospitals will be getting some of that money.

Clay County Hospital in Flora, Illinois, is getting over $180,000.

Horizon Health Foundation in Paris is getting nearly $100,000.

In total, schools and healthcare groups across the state will get nearly $9.5 million.
