Many Ukrainian children have forgotten about carefreeness. They know, not from conversations, what the whistle of a rocket or a drone sounds like, what to have in an emergency suitcase and where the nearest shelter is. And also, how to lose one’s home and loved ones.The two-minute video is a manifesto where 9 children who survived the occupation share what they experienced. This is part of the fundraising campaign of the Ukrainian Education Platform. In this way, we want to draw attention to the problem of children whose families find themselves in difficult life circumstances, affected by the war, are in crisisπ«π¬ “The shelling was constant and very scary. Our village became a battlefield. We hid in the cellar and spent the night there, sometimes for a week. When the occupiers entered, they knocked on all the doors, took away chickens, piglets, cows, bulls, and cars. The inscription “children” on the gate did not save anyone. My house was completely destroyed,” says 11-year-old Nazar from the village of Lypchanivka, Kharkiv region. The boy and his family now live with neighbors, but the family, which has lost everything, is in great need of support.πThe project of the Ukrainian education platform “Good Neighbor” helps families who find themselves in a crisis situation. Supports them with food and clothing. Assists in finding housing, organizes the work of a psychologist in these families. For children, it additionally helps with the services of a tutor, a speech therapist. In order for the project to continue working in the new year, the organization launched a fundraising campaign. It aims to collect 2 million hryvnias so that support for families in crisis does not stop.π¬”The manifesto is a kind of call for help.
