THIS IS SOMETHING HE GREW UP WITH A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS. THIS ONE IS THE ARROZ CON POLLO OR CHICKEN AND RICE TO AREA ATHLETES. JOEL LONGORIA AND RACHEL MITCHELL TURNED AUTHORS. MAYBE ONE DAY WELL HAVE A BOOK AND HERE WE ARE. AND THEIR SECRET INGREDIENT TO THIS CULINARY ADVENTURE, BOSTON AND NEW YORK CITY MARATHON CHAMPION AND OLYMPIC MEDALIST MEB KOVALESKI. YOU KNOW, NUTRITION IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF ANY PERFORMANCE TOGETHER, THEYRE FUELING THE FAMILY WITH TEAMWORK IN THE KITCHEN. NOTHING IS OVERLY COMPLICATED. THERE ARE THINGS THAT WE DO FOR OUR FAMILY ON A DAILY BASIS COMING TOGETHER AND EATING TOGETHER AND HOW SPECIAL THAT IS. NOW ITS REALLY TOO BAD YOU CANT SMELL THROUGH THE SCREEN OR GRAB THIS DISH RIGHT OUT OF THE PAGES OF THEIR NEW COOKBOOK. THE PICTURES IS LIKE VERY, VERY APPEALING. GOING THROUGH CREATING A BOOK AND LEARNING HOW TO DO OUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHY AND AND THE WRITING PART OF IT. JOEY AND RACHELS JOURNEY BEGAN WITH WORKING TOGETHER ON A NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR A LOCAL NONPROFIT. THEYVE EVOLVED INTO US CREATING OUR OWN RECIPES AND SHARING THEM WITH FAMILIES, PARENTS, COACHES, KIDS. THEIR EFFORTS QUICKLY GAINED TRACTION AND THEY FOUND THEMSELVES WITH A TREASURE TROVE OF TRIED AND TRUE RECIPES THAT CATER TO ALL BUSY LIVES NOW BOUND IN A BOOK. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE RECIPES THAT BEGINNING TO END IN ABOUT 25 MINUTES. YES, YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY MAKE THIS. THEYRE ALL OUTSIDE OF TRACK SHACK AT A BOOK SIGNING, BUT THE CONNECTION WITH THE MARATHON LEGEND START WITH A CHANCE MEETING DURING A RUN. HE SHOWED UP TO A RANDOM TUESDAY MORNING RUN AT AND I RAN FIVE MILES WITH HIM. SO HE DID ALL THE TALKING BECAUSE I COULDNT REALLY KEEP UP WITH THEM. THEIR FRIENDSHIP GREW AND FOUND THEIR BOOKS MESSAGE MIX AS WELL. HES INCREDIBLE RUNNER, BUT HES A MORE INCREDIBLE HUMAN BEING. HES VERY, VERY FAMILY ORIENTED. MEBS OWN FAVORITE RECIPE, EVEN FEATURED I LIKE BREAKFAST. IT COULD BE AT EARLY IN THE MORNING. IT COULD BE AT 12:00 IN THE AFTERNOON OR LATER. I CAN HAVE ALWAYS EGGS AND THATS WHAT I USUALLY HAVE A BIG BREAKFAST FOR DINNER GUY. ABSOLUTELY. WORD OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER RUNNERS, OTHER ATHLETES OUT THERE TO JUST GIVE IT THEIR ALL? A WINNING IS NOT ABOUT FIRST PLACE, BUT GETTING THE BEST OUT OF YOURSELF AND IT STARTS WITH ONE GETTING OUT THE DOOR, TYING YOUR SHOES AND GETTING OUT, STARTING RUNNING AND A GOOD PAGE TURNING REMINDER THAT IT ISNT JUST ABOUT FINDING A RECIPE, BUT ITS A RECIPE FOR FAMILY CONNECTION TO CATCH UP AND AND JUST CONNECT OVER FOOD, WHICH IS SOMETHING RACHEL AND I ARE BOTH PASSIONATE ABOUT. IT LOOKS GOOD, RIGHT? YOU CAN GET A COPY OF YOUR COOKBOOK FUELING THE FAMILY TEAMWORK IN THE KITCHEN IN TOWN OR ON AMAZON. ALSO WANT TO MENTION THE FOUNDATION, TOO. HES INCREDIBLE. THEY SUPPORT KIDS. THEY INSPIRE HEALTH, EDUCATION, FITNESS. A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING. THATS NEAT. AND I LIKE THAT THEY WERE KIND OF TIMED RECIPES. SO LIKE 25 MINUTES OR SO. I MEAN

Questions From Nonprofits This Week! [Video]

From The Nonprofit Show, Julia Patrick addresses various questions received from viewers this week. The first question pertains to the evolving trend of shorter CEO tenures in nonprofit leadership positions. Julia highlights that shorter tenures can indicate flexibility and adaptability, but it’s crucial to ask candidates about their reasons for such durations to make informed hiring decisions. Next, Julia answers a question from a fundraiser who wonders whether to invest more in professional development for fundraising or programming. She emphasizes the importance of understanding the nonprofit’s work and suggests a holistic approach, advocating for knowledge of both fundraising and programming to be a well-rounded fundraiser. Julia also offers advice to someone trying to build relationships with potential donors outside their community. She encourages looking beyond geographic boundaries, considering the digital age, and tapping into the philanthropic passions of donors who may have moved away but still care about their community. You can also listen to the show on your favorite podcast channel. Additionally, the American Nonprofit Academy provides news, inspiration, and training for the nonprofit and social impact community.#fundraising #nonprofit #socialimpact
