Local Adventurer Raising Money for A Great Cause! [Video]

Local adventurer, Sam Weber, could be described as an ‘extreme fundraiser’, who pushes himself to travel to some of the most inaccessible places around the world to raise money for charity. In the last few years, Sam has travelled to Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro, completed a jungle survival course in the Amazon Rainforest and more recently, he climbed Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest mountain in the Southern Hemisphere. Being from Sussex, Sam has raised considerable amounts for a whole range of local charities, including Chestnut Tree House, St Barnabas House and the main charity he has decided to stick with for future trips, the Chailey Heritage Foundation. During lockdown, he had two trips cancelled and never really knew when his next trip was going to go ahead, meaning that the constant training that he has to do to become fit for these challenges is somewhat wasted if the trip is cancelled, creating a great deal of mental strain due to unknowing if his next trip will be cancelled. Learn more from Sam in the video and find out about his next adventure!Don’t forget to Like, Subscribe and find us on Social Media to keep up to date with everything going on at The Latest!Website: www.thelatest.co.ukLatest MusicBar: www.latestmusicbar.co.ukTwitter: @LatestTVBtnFacebook: @thelatest.tvInstagram: @LatestBrightonTikTok: @LatestTVBtn

Cape Ann ARTWaves – Greg Bover [Video]

Gregory Bover is the former Vice President for Operations at C.B. Fisk, Inc. of Gloucester, Massachusetts, designers and builders of pipe organ for churches, concert halls and academic institutions across the United States and around the world.Greg had many important functions, but a key role was as Project Manager, leading structural and mechanical design and participating in the visual and architectural aspects of each project, while saving a little woodworking for himself.Additionally, during his 42 years at Fisk, Greg took full advantage of the company policy encouraging shop members to do their own work after hours in the state-of-the-art Gloucester woodshop, building and restoring furniture, and creating useful things from his own designs.Greg’s love of woodworking started much earlier. Greg began working with his father, a carpenter and mechanic, at 14, building houses around New England. After college, at University of New Hampshire he moved on to boat building as a cabin and deck carpenter with Bruno & Stillman in Newington NH. The simplicity and symmetry of the Arts and Crafts Movement has always influenced his work; side trips during lengthy organ building installations in Japan and the American Southwest have added Mission and Japanese flavors to his designs.———————————————————-1623 Studios is a #nonprofit organization dedicated to producing community programming for #CapeAnn—Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Essex—and to providing a forum for the free exchange of information and ideas.
