This is more than a three-day event in September. It is a place, an “on-earth-as-it-is-in-heaven” space we share and hold between us—holy ground—an ongoing, unceasing, ever-surprising meeting with God. And as Jesus reveals himself and his purposes, men and women begin to give themselves unreservedly, with an uncommon abandon, to him alone. The small fires of great awakening are lit. And everywhere that happens, from the Day of Pentecost forward, a door opens into a new room for the ever-expanding kingdom of heaven on earth. Let’s be clear. All of this is for awakening. The measure of a meeting with God is not so much what happens in the meeting, but where the meeting goes next. Our attendees are made up of leaders and learners, pastors and volunteers, male and female from many denominational backgrounds, and these are the people through whom the Lord will launch many movements. In the New Room community, we’re finding a transcendent fellowship of travailing love, existing in the courts of heaven and moved on earth by the unseen hand of God, to do impossible things in unimaginable ways.
