Ladies of Virtue works to instill purpose, passion, and perseverance in girls, while preparing them for college, careers, and to become change agents in their communities.Woodlawn-based Ladies of Virtue is one of two organizations joining the University of Chicago’s Community Programs Accelerator 2022/2023 nonprofit cohort at the Core level. Ladies of Virtue started working with the Accelerator at the Special Projects level of support in 2017 and worked at the Associates level starting in 2020. During that time, Accelerator staff and UChicago graduate students helped lead a strategic planning process across all levels of the organization and Accelerator consulting partner Perry Gunn helped develop a full fundraising plan. With the Accelerator’s ongoing support, the organization plans to strengthen organizational infrastructure, including by enhancing technology; hire fulltime staff; and otherwise ensure that participating girls and mentors have a consistent, positive experience across programs in the next three years.
