TSA provides Thanksgiving holiday travel tips at Baton Rouge Airport [Video]

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) are offering advice for passengers during this busy Thanksgiving travel surge.

Many of those who travel on the road, or, in the air, the busiest time is during the holidays.

According to BTR spokesperson, Jim Caldwell, the Baton Rouge Metro Airport is expecting record-breaking numbers this Thanksgiving holiday season.

“I think it could be a record one,” said Caldwell. “We’re anticipating a, probably at least a 10% increase. We’re about there, we’re 95-96% of 2019 now, which was a 10-year high for us. So, we’ve especially gotten back to normal.”

Below, TSA provides tips before traveling for the holidays:

  • Plan your parking location early.
  • Arrive at the airport two hours ahead of your flight.
  • Remember the 3-1-1 rules for liquids, gels, and aerosols for carry-ons.
