US issues travel advisory for Jamaica [Video]

(NewsNation) — The U.S. State Department issued a Level 3 travel advisory for Jamaica, urging Americans to exercise “increased caution” due to an increase in violent crimes.

“It’s an advisory, not a warning. Now, the advice that’s been given by the State Department is the same advice I give people to go to Cincinnati or Cleveland or Wyoming, you know, don’t necessarily walk alone at night. Don’t necessarily drive alone at night,” said NewsNation travel editor Peter Greenberg.

Greenberg joined “Morning in America” to discuss what the advisory means, saying the increase in crime is not likely to impact tourists.
