Dallas 9-year-old has Texas best lemonade stand [Video]

A 9-year-old girl from Dallas won a contest set up by the nonprofit LemonadeDay.org and the Governor’s Commission for Women for her lemonade stand. The nonprofit says more than 300 kids entered the “Junior Pitch Competition.”

Skylar Lewis won for her stand, Skylar’s Sweet Snacks, and answered questions from the commission Wednesday.

“What have been some of the hardest things you’ve had to overcome in running your business?” she was asked.

“COVID,” Lewis responded. “That’s the reason I have my lemonade in bottles is so I could keep less contact.”

“What do you enjoy most about your business?” another panelist asked.

“I enjoy seeing the smiles on peoples’ faces after they try my lemonade,” Lewis answered.

Leadership for Lemonade Day says the organization aims to help kids develop business skills and learn about responsibility, financial literacy, goal setting and teamwork.
