Alex II’s First Week as namesake @ For The Love Of Alex Inc. [Video]

Alex II’s First Week as namesake @ For The Love Of Alex Inc.

For The Love Of Alex provides urgent funding for pets needing emergency veterinary care that their loving families cannot afford. Alex, our namesake, sadly passed away on May 9, 2022, at 18 years old. Alex inspired our founder Elizabeth to start a nonprofit to help low-income families pay for urgent veterinary care for their pets. Alex was her inspiration after he became extremely sick when he was 10 and needed surgery to remove painful bladder stones. Alex was lucky, Elizabeth had the money to pay for his surgery, but she thought about all the other pets out there that are euthanized or surrendered to a shelter because their family could not afford their medical expenses.

Alex II was found abandoned and neglected on the busy streets of Philadelphia. A kind animal lover called an animal rescue to see if they could save him. Alex had a severe upper respiratory infection; he had multiple wounds that healed from fending for himself. Alex was rescued and he was neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, and vaccinated.

We were not looking for another kitty. However, we saw this beautiful fur baby who needed a home and had an uncanny resemblance to our beloved Alex. FTLOA officially adopted Alex II from Meraki Animal Sanctuary in Philadelphia on July 24, 2022. Please welcome Alex II to the FTLOA family!
