One of the Omaha Symphony’s most notable guest artists next season won’t have to travel far for his appearance.
Filmmaker Alexander Payne (“Election,” “The Holdovers”), an Omaha native who still has a home here, will join the orchestra for two concerts exploring the power of film music.
On Jan. 25 and 26, 2025, he will “discuss the importance of film music’s intimate relationship with images (and) encourage us to recognize top-tier film scores as phenomenal music in their own right,” according to a description included in the lineup for the symphony’s 2024-2025 season, which was announced Monday.
