Maybe you’re a concerned individual with a heart for missions. You can plan campaigns and raise money all you want, but at some point you need to answer the question, is starting a nonprofit worth it?
For some people, starting a nonprofit won’t be worth it. They would rather temporarily raise money and send it to missionaries or organizations, and that’s fine if it works for them. But if you have a long-term mission and vision, then you it’s probably worth it to start a nonprofit.
And that’s where the importance of development strategy comes in. Once they’ve started a nonprofit, so many nonprofit leaders spend years simply managing momentum. You need to have a better plan to hold on to that bucking broncho.
