Climate Resilient Maricopa: Regional Infrastructure Exchange Workshop 3 – Data for Grant Writing & Equity. Federal infrastructure spending includes an array of programs that require or preference regional scale collaboration. In Workshop 3, participants learn about available data sources that support building resilience communities and how that can be applied to resilience infrastructure. The discussion will touch upon how to use the data to intersect with equity. Participants will get the opportunity to discuss data challenges and opportunities. Participants will also hear how communities are discovering the nexus of data and equity to drive policy programs and solutions. City of Phoenix will discuss their data-driven work to reduce heat vulnerabilities and cooling strategies. By working together, we can ensure our region uses upcoming federal funding to co-create a healthier, more connected, and sustainable region.Federal infrastructure spending includes an array of programs that require or preference regional scale collaboration. Preparing the Greater Phoenix region to identify and pursue high value funding opportunities, the Regional Infrastructure Exchange, grant incubator series, brings together government entities from the state, county, municipal and tribal communities interested in exploring cross-sector, multi-city federal funding proposals. As the series progresses, bringing along valuable partners from the community, private sector and academia will be critical in developing truly advanced funding proposals. Through monthly sessions between February-June 2022, participants will learn more about specific infrastructure programs funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and discuss needs, challenges, and opportunities for joint-collaboration.
