CatchLight Local ONA Industry Directory [Video]

CatchLight is a nonprofit visual media organization that leverages the power of visuals to inform, connect and transform communities. We partner with news organizations to bring the most engaging form of communication there is visuals to the forefront of journalism. Through visual journalism fellowships, editorial support, and community engagement, we support newsrooms use of photography, video, illustration, and other visual-driven projects to meet critical information needs and improve representation, especially of underserved or marginalized communities. This year, CatchLight Local is subsidizing six CatchLight Local Fellows in California newsrooms, where they serve their communities as paid, full-time staff visual journalists, adding expertise and capacity to news outlets that recognize the power of visual storytelling.

This session focuses on why retaining donors must be a priority and provides ideas on how to manage relationships to create loyal donors. Romero previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Pueblo City-County Library District in Pueblo, CO, overseeing a more than $14 million budget. Her extensive accounting experience also includes positions as Senior Auditor and Tax Accountant for McPherson, Goodrich, Paolucci & Mihelich, PC in Pueblo, CO, as well as Accountant positions for Colorado Springs Housing Authority in Colorado Springs, CO and the Downtown Denver Partnership in Denver, CO. Romero also is an active member of the accounting industry, currently serving on the AICPA’s Young Member Leadership Committee as chair and a board member for the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA).
