Community helps a family spread AED awareness [Video]

TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Saturday in the Poconos community joined a family spreading awareness for better safety in sports.

Shawnee Mountain Ski Area partnered with Zoll Medical and hosted its AED awareness ski day in honor of Greg Moyer, who died of cardiac arrest in 2000.

Moyer was just 15 years old playing in a basketball game when he came off the court at halftime and collapsed in the locker room.

The event is aimed at raising awareness around accessible AEDs, with all proceeds donated to the Greg Moyer AED Fund.

Scranton half marathon fundraises differently this year

People had the opportunity to learn how an AED works and how to correctly perform CPR.

Moyer’s mom recalls the moment she lost her son, pushing her to teach others the skills that may prevent another tragedy.

P.E.I.'s Atlantic Veterinary College looks to continue expansion [Video]

The Atlantic Veterinary College on the UPEI campus is launching the second phase of its expansion project. The fundraising effort would go toward a new building that will allow renovations of the existing space. We spoke to students and staff at the college to get the details about the renos.
