TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Saturday in the Poconos community joined a family spreading awareness for better safety in sports.
Shawnee Mountain Ski Area partnered with Zoll Medical and hosted its AED awareness ski day in honor of Greg Moyer, who died of cardiac arrest in 2000.
Moyer was just 15 years old playing in a basketball game when he came off the court at halftime and collapsed in the locker room.
The event is aimed at raising awareness around accessible AEDs, with all proceeds donated to the Greg Moyer AED Fund.
