SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Groups and organizations work every holiday to ensure no child is forgotten in Springfield hospitals.
“When you are a child, and you have other traditions and other fun things you want to do, it is just really hard when you are here and not feeling and not in your own environment,” says Ashley Wilson, the Child Life Services Manager with Mercy Springfield.
Santa received help from several agencies, including Convoy of Hope, America’s Car-Mart, and the UTV Parade of Lights. If you want to help Santa, you can drop off donations year-round at the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center.
“Any donor can drop off those in-kind donations to that clinic. And they will graciously accept them on our behalf, and then my team will distribute them and make sure they get to the right patients to make sure they feel that love,” says Wilson.
