Five homes destroyed in Hill County wildfire near Blum [Video]

Another large wildfire has destroyed five Hill County homes and the fire is still out of control as of Thursday morning.

The Texas A&M Forest Service calls it the Blum Fire because it’s burning near the town of Blum about 15 miles south of Cleburne.

The fire has now consumed 250 acres and is considered only 20 percent contained.

While the homes in Hill County affected by the Blum Fire are all outside city limits, it has affected the city nonetheless. Mayor Matthew Cisneros says the city is working to help those who have either lost their homes or whose homes are threatened.

Blum is also providing assistance to the firefighters, coordinating donation efforts to provide food and water to them. They’re accepting donations at the volunteer fire department.
