DAVISON, Mich. (WJRT) – Ireland’s Dream held its second annual Arctic Spash fundraiser Saturday in Davison.
About 60 participants participated in taking a swim in the cold waters.
The organization is in honor of a local girl named Ireland, who was born with cerebral palsy.
The organization is fundraising to build a $25 million therapy center in Davison to inspire all children with cerebral palsy to break through the barriers of their physical limitations.
“We’re doing crazy things today because you only live once,” says Stacey Hurley from Ireland’s Dream. “In that life, you should be making memories and doing it for a great cause. The event today has actually doubled from last year, and as of Friday night, we reached the $10,000 mark.”
Ireland’s Dream is already looking for teams and sponsors for next year’s Arctic Splash. Organizers say they hope to continue to grow the event to help even more children in the area …
