La Maestra Health teams up with Covered California [Video]

Uninsured residents in San Diego County may have better access to free or low-cost coverage through the partnership.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — Enrollment in Covered California, the state’s health insurance marketplace, is on track to provide coverage to record numbers of residents this year.  

And now, previously uninsured residents in San Diego County may have better access to free or low-cost coverage through a partnership between Covered California and La Maestra Community Health Centers. 

The nonprofit community health center, with clinics in City Heights, Lemon Grove, National City, and elsewhere, is teaming up with Covered California to help connect people to health coverage during open enrollment. 

For many of the estimated 100,000 uninsured people in San Diego County, that means they may be eligible for health insurance plans for as low as $10 as well as those who qualify for free health care as well.
