Making IT Governance Work for Your Nonprofit [Video]

Making IT Governance Work for Your Nonprofit

Don’t leave your nonprofit unprotected from attacks, governance shortcomings, and blind spots. Learn how to set a strategic and responsive IT policy and train your staff to adhere to your key policies and governance.

Build Consulting Senior Consultant Jeff Gibson joins Community IT Senior Consultant Nura Aboki to discuss the barriers to creating and updating IT policy documents and how to get started with this important project. They will share their experience with nonprofits over the years and their tips on what works to update your governance documents.

Let’s face it, IT policy seems like one of the most uninteresting projects your leadership needs to undertake. You may have last interacted with your IT policies when you skimmed the employee handbook your first day on the job. However, think of your IT governance as the roots to create a strong culture that allows your organization to grow.

While your IT policies protect your organization, they are also a strategic document, and an opportunity for leadership to set direction and periodically assess workforce changes – against a backdrop of the ever-changing IT landscape of new tools, platforms, threats, and business needs. If you haven’t updated your policies since the move to remote work and the rise of AI, you need to take a look sooner rather than later.

In this panel, Jeff and Nura discuss the role of governance in your strategy in depth and give you practical takeaways for kick-starting this important project of making IT governance work for your nonprofit. Hosted by Community IT Innovators
