MENANDS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Do you know anyone in grades 6-12 who wants to experience hands-on animal care and learn how an animal shelter operates? The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is seeking participants for the monthly Humane Heroes Unleashed program that runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
Throughout the program, kids will engage in activities, including feeding and exercising dogs, reading to animals, cleaning carriers, and helping with pet food pantry donations. There is space for eight participants per month.
The cost is $50 for one month. New participants must attend an in-person orientation, which is held on the first Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. To apply, click here.
