Alaskans need reliable energy, as nearly 70% of Alaskans use Cook Inlet natural gas for heating and electricity generation, according to lawmakers and energy officials.

A problem with the school’s boiler forced Klatt Elementary School staff to cancel school for the day, according to text messages sent by district officials on Thursday. Students will use a remote online learning day Friday.

The city said that with the increase in clients, it is seeking donations to ensure that everyone can be helped.

Enstar Natural Gas President John Sims said at a press conference at City Hall Thursday that the utility is facing challenges delivering natural gas at the same time that demand is extraordinarily high due to prolonged frigid temperatures.

World Central Kitchen held an interfaith Celebration of Life to honor our heroes killed in Gaza. The memorial service was held at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC on Thursday, April 25.
