New website connects ETX nonprofit organizations with volunteers [Video]

East Texas Cares, at www.etxcares.com, allows organizations from across the region to advertise projects and duties they need volunteers to help accomplish.

LONGVIEW, Texas — East Texas nonprofit organizations and people who want to volunteer have a different way to get in touch: the Greater Longview United Way’s new website.

East Texas Cares, at www.etxcares.com, allows organizations from across the region to advertise projects and duties they need volunteers to help accomplish. It also allows volunteers to sign up for various causes, track the time they’ve given to charitable organizations and build a resume detailing their efforts.

“We should be the go-to, one-stop shop for people who want to give back to their community, and for our nonprofits in our area, not just the ones that we’re affiliated with, to be able to showcase their needs,” said Evan Dolive, executive director of the Greater Longview United Way.
