SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) – Tuesday night, the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA opened its doors to the community to kick off a new fundraising campaign.
They held a “Tacos For Tots” event, showing off plans for a new early learning and youth development center. It’s a space that will provide childcare and learning programs.
This is a project that began back in 2019 and was split into two phases. The first phase, which expanded the preschool and childcare program, is already complete.
The second phase will add 12,000 square feet of space and some new programs, including 100 new childcare openings, a STEAM program, additional recreational activity, leadership training and longer operational hours.
The YMCA says they’re hoping to help fill a growing need in the metro.
