Knives forged from combat metals.

Unique, historic, symbolic, and beautiful craftsmanship to make the perfect gift.

But it didn’t start that way.

In 2012, U.S. Army Veteran Justin Clapsaddle was a middle school Principal looking for a hobby.

He approached Mike Wilson, local knifemaker, to learn how to make knives. Mike agreed but warned Justin that once he started it would get into his blood, and become a passion he wouldn’t be able to put down.

Mike was right.

Justin went on to make knives for friends and family, peaking at 100 knives for a single Christmas. Business was booming.

Until it wasn’t.

Without warning, orders began to slow, and Justin contemplated giving up, selling everything and moving on.

Seeking support, Justin encountered Warrior Rising and decided to learn and apply the Warrior Rising method for entrepreneurship. He brainstormed with Warrior Rising mentors over new ideas, angles, and methods to draw a larger audience.

From those sessions, War Metal Forge was born to incorporate metal from actual battles, taking a piece of tragedy and turning it into an heirloom piece. A historic piece to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes, telling a story, and remembering what they have done for all of us.

Warrior Rising is proud of Justin Clapsaddle, and the tremendous growth Clapsaddle Knives & War Metal Forge. Justin was one of the original 6 Vetrepreneurs, and continues to be a story of the Warrior Rising process success.
