This is a tiny glimpse into my experience hiking the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) in 2021. After wondering if I might die from what I believe was pneumonia caused by Covid, I decided that it was time to live out my dreams while I still had the chance. With a mission to raise some money for charity, I began in March and made some friends that I believe I will keep for a lifetime. After Watching hundreds of videos from people like “Darwin on the Trail,” “Homemade Wanderlust” and most importantly, Elena Osborne, aka “Tip Tap” I geared up and got a one way ticket to San Diego then a ride to the desert where I started my Northbound Journey towards Canada. About a week into the journey I got my trail name, “Smooth” Through the desert, Sierra Nevada mountains and beyond. We learned together how fun it can be to live as a homeless person with only the clothes you wear and what you can carry in your ultralight backpack. 🙂
