In the midst of the enjoyment and leisure of Sunday-morning pickleball at The Greencroft Club, participants were playing for more than the next point.
The club hosted its third annual pickleball tournament on Sunday to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Longest Day.
“Pickleball is such a fun activity, and Alzheimer’s Disease is such a serious, heavy journey,” Emily Rosenberger, an events manager with the Alzheimer’s Association, said. “So, I think it’s honestly a perfect pairing, because a lot of these individuals are personally connected, and this is an outlet for them. They’re coming together over a mutually cared-about cause, and having fun.”
The organization is the focus of many fundraisers across the country using a variety of methods to promote the cause.
