PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – As pro-Palestinian protesters occupy college campuses across the nation, students also gathered at Portland State University (PSU).
Hundreds gathered on the PSU campus on Monday for a pro-Palestine rally, joining the student movement of similar demonstrations at college campuses across the nation.
“We are inspired by Columbia. We are inspired by UCLA and UT Austin,” Senna, a student, said.
A large crowd rallied right in front of the “solidarity encampment” that’s been occupying a part of the downtown Portland campus for days.
Campus security drove by and police monitored the area.
Students said they are fighting for a ceasefire in Gaza, but also voicing concern to university officials over the school’s ties with Boeing for the company’s ties with Israel.
