A Quad-City nonprofit organization that provides diapers for families is running low on supplies.
Hiney Heroes helps families that can’t afford diapers. Managers say 47% of families with young children need help with diapers at some point. The organization is out of sizes four, five and six.Diapers may be donated at the Hiney Heroes warehouse at 104 10th St., Rock Island.

Communities depend on a thriving mangrove ecosystems for food and livelihoods, and a square mile of healthy mangrove forest can sequester carbon 10 times faster than the same area of mature tropical forests. But mangrove forests can also emit greenhouse gases when disturbed or degraded. In Ecuador, fishing communities and scientists work together to restore these forests and understand the climate benefits they provide to the world.
